Suzanne Degges-White, Ph.D., LMHC, LPC-NC joined Purdue University Calumet
is Associate Professor of Counseling and Development. She joined the
faculty as an Assistant Professor in August, 2003. She received her PhD
in May, 2003, from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in
Counseling and Counselor Education. She also earned a Graduate Certificate
in Women's Studies. She holds the National Certified Counselor credential
as well as being a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Suzanne's primary research interest is women's development throughout the lifespan. She is especially interested in women's wellness and ways in which women deal with life transitions and aging. She has written and published numerous articles and book chapters addressing women's experiences and transitions as well as overall wellness in adults. Her research has been funded by grants from women's studies organizations and counseling organizations. She also received the Research Award from the Association for Adult Development and Aging, a division of the American Counseling Association.
