Hyperlinks and Bookmarks
Hyperlinks and Bookmarks are terms used by FrontPage to identify external and internal links. External links are links to other pages or websites; internal links refer to links that work with a target (or Bookmark) to send the reader up or down within a single document.

Internal Links and Bookmarks
In long pages, it is often helpful to have links and bookmarks inserted at key points so that users can read your page with minimal scrolling. For example, in the document you are reading right now, internal links are located at the top of the page which refer to bookmarks located at each of the main headings, like the one just above.
To insert a Bookmark:
1. Place your cursor at the destination point for your link. For example, if you want to create a link that transports users to the top of the page, you would insert a bookmark at the top of the page. The link will then be placed at the bottom. Click the Insert menu and choose Bookmark to place your bookmark.
2. You will be asked to name your bookmark. Give it a simple name that is descriptive of where it is located so that you can remember it later on.
3. A bookmark symbol will appear in your document when you click OK. This symbol will not appear when the page is viewed in a web browser.
Now add the link:
1. Scroll and select the text or graphic at the location where you wish to have your internal link. So, if we have a bookmark at the top of the page, we might go down to the bottom of the page to place our link. As with an external hyperlink, click the Insert menu and choose Hyperlink to continue.
2. At the Insert Hyperlink window, click the Bookmark button on the right. A list of available bookmarks will appear. Click on the bookmark you want to link to, and click OK twice to exit the window.

3. Your link will be blue and/or underlined as any normal hyperlink. However, when the page is opened in a web browser, the link will transport the user to the Bookmark you specified instead of to another web page.
